Data Analyst

Location: Central Manchester

The Data Analyst is a key role within our data & analytics team, reporting to the Head of Data & AI Products. The person appointed to the role will be responsible for analysing and reporting on data from a range of sources as well as creating visualisations of data and presenting them to key stakeholders. The data analyst will help to understand our various data sources in detail, to clean and converge them and to provide insights in a timely and accurate manner to the business. A key part of the role will be around compliance and the person appointed will take a lead role with GDPR. There is also a chance for an interested applicant to be involved from the start with our exciting data science initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide management reporting, analysis and insights, including visualisations, that answer business questions across all areas of the business
  • Work with internal teams to create models and forecasts of future performance
  • Aim to automate our reporting to be real-time, always-on and self-service
  • Encourage and educate end users to automate their own workflows and to take ownership of their data quality and compliance
  • Help us work towards getting all users frictionless access to insights e.g. via a dashboard and in the best structure for performant and cost-effective analysis that can be acted upon
  • Become an expert on our disparate data stores and visualization and data analysis tools
  • Help assess, design and evaluate alternatives or add-ons to our existing set of tools
  • Encourage and facilitate the early adoption of emerging technology such as machine learning
  • Be proactive in presenting and sharing insights with stakeholders and colleagues and improve their awareness of the information available to them
  • Share successes of the data-driven approach with the business
